Just a reminder to all spring athletes that are starting conditioning. Please get your physical and sports packets in to your coaches as soon as possible. You can pick up packets in the principals office or from your coach.

Congratulations to the following seniors for being selected Outstanding Seniors 2016: Megan Dammerman, Reagan Morrison, Collin Prather, Hannah Reach, Jacob Stark, and Ryan Stark.

Applications for the Union County Women in Business Scholarship are due in the guidance office by 1 PM on Friday, February 12.

Seniors- if you are applying for any of the GFWC scholarships those applications must be postmarked by February 15. If you want the guidance office to mail those applications, please turn them in to the guidance office by the end of the day on Thursday, February 11.

Southeast Missouri State University will be hosting an open house on Saturday, February 13, from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Track conditioning will begin Tomorrow, Tuesday February 9th from 3:30-4:45. We will meet on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday until February 25th. Official practice will begin February 29th.

FBLA is sponsoring the Crush for my Crush Valentines day Fundraiser. Members are selling Crush Sodas for a $1.00.  Students must purchase hearts before February 11th.  Hearts can be turned in during homeroom February 12th.  Orange is Friends, Strawberry(Red) is Love, and Grape(Purple) is Secret Admirer.  All proceeds go to benefit March of Dimes.

The Shawnee National Forest, Mississippi Bluffs Ranger District, is currently recruiting youths to participate in the youth conservation Corps Program. The YCC program is a summer employment program for youth males and females to work in the area of Natural Resources. Enrollees will be selected on a random basis, and will be paid minimum wage. The program will begin June 13,2016 and end on August 5, 2016. Some of the requirements include: must be at least 15 years of age before or on the first day of work, and not reach 19 years of age during their employment period, must posses a social security card before the first day of work, must provide own transportation, etc. Applications will be accepted until March 11, 2016.

The Culinary Arts classes are now taking orders for chocolate covered strawberries. They will be ready for pickup/delivery on Friday February 12th. Please see Mrs. Cleghorn or any Culinary Arts student to place your order. 

Sgt. Henry from the National Guard will be at A-J here Wednesday Feb. 10.

Just a reminder- in order to be considered for SIU-C college and alumni scholarship opportunities, the General Scholarship Application and all conditional applications must be submitted by February.

Lindsey Johnson from Shawnee College will  be in the guidance office today (2/9). Appointments may be scheduled in the guidance office.

Applications are available in the guidance office for the Zeta Psi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship -- Two $500 scholarships are available for the 2016-2017 school year and open to any Union County student entering their freshman through senior year of college, technical school, or taking a higher degree in an accredited college or university.   Deadline Date: April 8, 2016

The blood drive will be on Thursday February 25th from 9am-3pm. If you are interested in donation please see Ms. Maze to schedule your appointment. For those who received permission slips, those need to be turned in by February 10th to ensure the spot you signed up for in January.
