University of St. Francis Academic Scholarships are guaranteed for all four years for full-time students at USF. Students are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA (earning Cs or better).  Ongoing Scholarships for Student Caregivers (Elderly, Alzheimer’s, & Epilepsy) A variety of scholarships for high school and college students who care for an elderly family member, want to work with the elderly for a career, or who have or are a family member of a person who has epilepsy.  Sept 20, 2019 Acorn Equality Fund The scholarships range from $1,000 to $4,000.  Applications available at www.acornequalityfund.org.  Deadline date:  September 20, 2019.  Check in the guidance office for more information.
 Oct 15, 2019     Hispanic Heritage Foundation 21st Annual Youth Awards (presented by Hispanic Heritage Foundation) – Students who are in the graduating Class of 2020 will be awarded up to $3,500 in educational grants to fund their higher education or to fund a community-based project.  Recipients  will be selected for their accomplishments in the classroom, community, and for their excellence in various educational categories.  For further information, check in the guidance office. Deadline date:  October 15, 2019.
 Oct 29, 2019 The Carroll P. Foster Post #3455, VFW The Carroll P. Foster Post #3455, VFW, Voice of Democracy is sponsoring the Voice of Democracy Contest for students in grades 9-12.  A 3-5 minute essay on an audio CD or a flash drive is required.  Topic:  “What Makes America Great”.  Prizes are awarded on the local level (there will be one winner from each school in the County.  Those winners will advance to the District competition and prizes are awarded there also.  Entry forms are available in the guidance office. Deadline date:  Entries must be turned in no later than October 29, 2019. 
 Nov 5, 2019 Elks National Foundation, Inc- Most Valuable Student Scholarship Elks National Foundation, Inc. Most Valuable Student Scholarship – Available to any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen.  Applications will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.  Applications are available on line at enf.elks.org/mvs. or check in the guidance office.   Deadline date: November 5, 2019
 Nov 5, 2019 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards  Available to students for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. Program details are available at spirit.prudential.com or nassp.org/spirit.   Deadline date:  Nov. 5, 2019.  If selected, the top high school youth volunteer will be named State Honoree and will receive a $1,000 scholarship, silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., etc.  Check in the guidance office for more information.
 Nov 8, 2019     Growmark Essay Contest for FFA Members The theme for the 2020 GROWMARK Essay Contest is: “Describe the ‘Farmer of the Future.’ What tools or skills will he or she need to be successful?” The contest is open to all high school FFA members in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Students will share their idea of what the farmers of tomorrow will be and discuss the skills and tools they will need to use. Essays can be submitted online on their website. The deadline for all submissions is midnight Central time on November 8, 2019. Additional program details have been sent to agriculture teachers and are online at www.growmark.com. Each state’s winner earns a $500 award and the winner’s FFA chapter receives a $300 award. Four runners-up per state each win $125 awards.
 Nov 10, 2019 2020-2021 Schoolhouse Connection Youth Scholarship Program This program provides scholarships to youth who have experienced homeless to ensure their completion of a post-secondary education program (and much more). A minimum of 10 scholarships ($2,000 each) will be awarded; a trip to a national awards ceremony (travel and expenses included); and, a second gathering in Washington, DC one year after the initial scholarship award (all expenses included).  For more info apply at https://www.schoolhouseconnection.org/youth-leadership/scholarship-program/ or check in the guidance office.  Deadline date:  November 10, 2019.
December 8, 2019. Michigan Technological University – College of Business Impact Scholarship  Available to seniors planning to major in accounting, construction management, economics, engineering management, finance, general business, management, management information, and/or marketing.  This competitive award recognizes high school seniors who have leadership experience and academic success in and outside the classroom.  For more info check in the guidance office.  Applications for admission and the scholarship must be received by December 8, 2019.
 Dec 31, 2019 Crazy Games Scholarship     We are offering a $1500 game development scholarship. It’s available for any student in a computer science or any related computer education program.

Dec31, 2019 Thomas H. Moore IEC Memorial Scholarship Program   A total of twelve $2,000 scholarships annually will be awarded to students entering college to assist them with educational costs.  The fund was designed to financially assist deserving students in the “electric cooperative family,” while also providing a means for co-ops and individuals to honor deceased members of the co-op family through memorial gifts.  Six (6) scholarships are awarded to students who are the sons or daughters of an Illinois electric cooperative member receiving service from the cooperative.  Four (4) scholarships are reserved for students enrolling full-time at a two-year Illinois community college who are the sons or daughters of Illinois electric cooperative members, employees or directors.  One (1) scholarship, the Earl W. Struck Memorial Scholarship, is awarded to a student who is the son or daughter of an Illinois electric employee or director.  Apply on line at https://aiec.coop.iec-scholarship/?coop=SIL.

Jan 16, 2020 Geisinger Scholarship Program – University of Michigan  Available to students  pursuing a degree in engineering. Check in the guidance office for more information.  
 Jan 31, 2020 Elks National Foundation Scholarships for Families – Emergency Educational Grants  Eligible applicants must:  attend an accredited U.S. college or university as a full-time (12 semester hours) undergraduate student, demonstrate financial need, and be unmarried and under the age of 24 during the academic year for which assistance is desired.  Visit enf.elks.org/eeg. Applications available by request between May 1 and October 31 of the academic year for which assistance is desired.  Legacy Awards – Students eligible must be college-bound seniors who are the children or grandchildren of dues-paying Elks.  Applications are online at enf.elks.org/leg.  Deadline date:  on or before Jan. 31, 2020, at 11:59 am. central time.
 Feb 15, 2020 National CO-OP Scholarship Program  (advancing cooperative & work-integrated education) Nine colleges/universities participate;  application submissions online only at www.waceinc.org.  Deadline date:  postmarked February 15, 2020 unless otherwise noted on the application from some of the nine universities.
Feb 17,2020 SCAD Scholarship   Put your artistic vision to the test for an opportunity to earn a scholarship to the Savannah School of Art and Design, the University of Creative Careers.  Challenges are open to SCAD applicants who are current juniors and seniors in high school as of the 2019-2020 academic year.  Entries must consist of a single piece and demonstrate creativity, innovation, and a strong understanding of aesthetics.  Check in the guidance office for more info.
 Feb 20, 2020     Union County Women in Business     Union County Women in Business Scholarship – Available to seniors.  Criteria include:  must be  in top 40% of class; must plan to attend and be accepted by an institution of higher learning; amount of scholarship is $500.  Applications are available in the guidance office.   Deadline date:  applications must be returned to the guidance office by February 20 2020.
 Feb 21, 2020 CBAI (Community Bankers Association of Illinois) scholarship The CBAI Foundation for community Banking provides monetary awards for top high-school seniors statewide. The total awards available this year by the Foundation is $21,000. These awards help deserving students highlight the importance of community banking to the local economy. You could win up to $4,000 for higher education, and your school is eligible to win $500! Competition is open to lllinois high-school seniors who are sponsored by a CBAI member bank, it is not based on financial need. Students must be U.S. citizens and residents of lllinois. Student bank employees, plus the immediate families ot any bank’s employees, board members, and CBAI employees are ineligible. Students are asked to write one-paragraph on each of the three topics, {not to exceed two pages in length and no more than three paragraphs); double-spaced using the font Times New Roman with 10-12-point size. Do not submit your essay to more than one bank or you will be disqualified. See the Guidance Office for more information.
Feb 21, 2020 2020 Illinois Chemical Education Foundation Scholarship  A number of $2,000 scholarships are awarded each year to top high school senior science students.  The ICEF’s objective is to recognize and honor high school seniors who have exemplified outstanding achievement in academics, extracurricular/employment activities and community involvement.  More info is available in the guidance office.
March 31, 2020 Norredden Geen Cowen Scholarship The scholarship is administered by the Illinois Masonic Children’s Assistance Program for young adults enrolled in vocational or trade school programs.  The scholarship can be used for vocational training expenses for tuition, fees, tools, uniforms, and books.  For more information and an application check in the guidance office.

 April 3, 2020 The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois     This is a teacher preparation and scholarship program for high school seniors (and first – and second-year Illinois college students) who have the determination and drive to be excellent teachers in Illinois schools-of- need.  Get up to $23,000 in tuition assistance and become a teacher in Illinois!  Apply at www.goldenapple.org/scholars or check in the guidance office for more information.  Deadline date:  April 3, 2020.
April 30, 2019 Lavern and Nola McEntire Lineworker’s Scholarship Awarded to a student to attend the lineworker’s school conducted by the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives in conjunction with Lincoln Land Community College, Springfield, IL.
 June 1, 2019 Benner/Green “Learning for Success” Scholarship Fund This two-year scholarship ($10,000 per year) has been established for the benefit of one student/graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO or Ann-Jonesboro Community High School (to attend Ranken Technical College in St. Louis, MO)  Application procedures include:  Submit transcript, two letters of recommendation, essay, financial need, cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher,  etc.  Applications are available in the guidance office.
