 Ongoing                 University of St. Francis Scholarships combine whatever your students may receive in Illinois and federal need-based financial aid with new, larger, USF academic scholarships. University of St. Francis Academic Scholarships are guaranteed for all four years for full-time students at USF. Students are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA (earning Cs or better). January 31, 2020 Illinois Association for College Admission Counseling Scholarships Ten, $1,000 scholarships ($500 per semester, non-renewable) will be awarded to students who plan on pursuing a college or university education.  More info is available in the guidance office

 Jan 31, 2020 Elks National Foundation Scholarships for Families – Emergency Educational Grants  Eligible applicants must:  attend an accredited U.S. college or university as a full-time (12 semester hours) undergraduate student, demonstrate financial need, and be unmarried and under the age of 24 during the academic year for which assistance is desired.  Visit enf.elks.org/eeg. Applications available by request between May 1 and October 31 of the academic year for which assistance is desired.  Legacy Awards – Students eligible must be college-bound seniors who are the children or grandchildren of dues-paying Elks.  Applications are online at enf.elks.org/leg.  Deadline date:  on or before Jan. 31, 2020, at 11:59 am. central time.

Feb 1, 2020.IAA Foundation Scholarship ProgramSeveral scholarships are available to students majoring in agriculture, agribusiness or an ag-related field.  The listing of those scholarships, along with eligibility requirements, can be found at www.iaafoundation.org
Feb 14, 2020    ATTENTION JUNIORS: Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative is sponsoring “Youth to Springfield” (March 31, 2020) and “Youth to Washington Tour” (June 19-26, 2020).  Each youth tour winner will also receive a $1,000 scholarship.  There is no cost to the student other than incidental expenditures for souvenirs or snacks.  All transportation and meals are provided by SIEC.  Students do not have to receive electricity from SIEC to apply.  Applications are available in the guidance office.
 Feb 15, 2020 National CO-OP Scholarship Program  (advancing cooperative & work-integrated education) Nine colleges/universities participate;  application submissions online only at www.waceinc.org.  Deadline date:  postmarked February 15, 2020 unless otherwise noted on the application from some of the nine universities.
Feb 15, 2020.2020 Vocational ScholarshipGirls-Illinois Cottage Park Ridge ($1,000) and Boys-Lincoln Lodge ($1,000) – The vocational field focuses on job-specific training for students interested in the skilled trades rather than students pursuing professional careers.  Examples of vocational fields of study include but not limited to cosmetology, culinary arts, building trades, automotive, medical & dental assisting, computer repair and technology, firefighting, HVAC, office management, welding.  Criteria include:  extracurricular and volunteer activities, goals and ambitions.  Must also include school transcripts. ACT/SAT scores, two letters of recommendation (no relatives).  Must attend an Illinois college, junior college, technical or trade school.

2020 Hamilton Ridge Music Scholarship ($1,000)(instrumental or vocal) Include a performance disc or thumb drive with three audition selections, not to exceed a total of 15 minutes.  Audition selections should be solo performances.  Detail musical background such as private lessons, competitions, performances, etc. Criteria includes:  extracurricular and volunteer activities, goals and ambitions.  Must also include school transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, two letters of recommendation (no relatives).  Must attend an Illinois College/Junior College/University. 
Feb 15, 2020.2020 Arthur Grant Smith Drama Scholarship ($1,000)  Include details on drama/theater background such as private lessons, auditions, performances etc.  Criteria includes:  extracurricular and volunteer activities, goals and ambitions.  Must also include school transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, two letters of recommendation (no relatives). 
Must attend an Illinois College/Junior College/University.
Feb 17,2020 SCAD Scholarship   Put your artistic vision to the test for an opportunity to earn a scholarship to the Savannah School of Art and Design, the University of Creative Careers.  Challenges are open to SCAD applicants who are current juniors and seniors in high school as of the 2019-2020 academic year.  Entries must consist of a single piece and demonstrate creativity, innovation, and a strong understanding of aesthetics.  Check in the guidance office for more info.
 Feb 20, 2020     Union County Women in Business     Union County Women in Business Scholarship – Available to seniors.  Criteria include:  must be  in top 40% of class; must plan to attend and be accepted by an institution of higher learning; amount of scholarship is $500.  Applications are available in the guidance office.   Deadline date:  applications must be returned to the guidance office by February 20 2020.
 Feb 21, 2020 CBAI (Community Bankers Association of Illinois) scholarship The CBAI Foundation for community Banking provides monetary awards for top high-school seniors statewide. The total awards available this year by the Foundation is $21,000. These awards help deserving students highlight the importance of community banking to the local economy. You could win up to $4,000 for higher education, and your school is eligible to win $500! Competition is open to lllinois high-school seniors who are sponsored by a CBAI member bank, it is not based on financial need. Students must be U.S. citizens and residents of lllinois. Student bank employees, plus the immediate families ot any bank’s employees, board members, and CBAI employees are ineligible. Students are asked to write one-paragraph on each of the three topics, {not to exceed two pages in length and no more than three paragraphs); double-spaced using the font Times New Roman with 10-12-point size. Do not submit your essay to more than one bank or you will be disqualified. See the Guidance Office for more information.
Feb 21, 2020 2020 Illinois Chemical Education Foundation Scholarship  A number of $2,000 scholarships are awarded each year to top high school senior science students.  The ICEF’s objective is to recognize and honor high school seniors who have exemplified outstanding achievement in academics, extracurricular/employment activities and community involvement.  More info is available in the guidance office.
Feb 15, 20202020 Lorado Taft Art Scholarship ($1,000)-Criteria include:  extracurricular and volunteer activities, goals and ambitions.  Must also include school transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, two letters of recommendation (no relatives) and color photos or digital copies of three original art works, etc.  Must attend an Illinois College/University/Junior College. 
Feb15, 2020Vina A. Miller Memorial Scholarship – Education 2020 ($1,000) Criteria include:  A statement describing your Field of Study in Education, extracurricular activities and volunteer activities, goals and ambitions.  Must also include school transcripts, ACT/SAT scores, and two letters of recommendation (no relatives).  Must attend an Illinois College/Junior College/University.

IMUA 2020 Scholarship ProgramThe scholarship, valued at $1,000, is available to high school seniors whose parents or legal guardians are residential consumers of an IMUA member utility.  For an application and more information check in the guidance office.
March 11, 2020Rural Health, ScholarshipA $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior at each of the following schools:  Anna-Jonesboro, Cobden, Dongola, Shawnee, Goreville, and Vienna for a student pursuing a career in healthcare.  Eligibility requirements include:  be in the top 30% of class, have plans to pursue a healthcare degree or certificate at an accredited college or university, provide proof of enrollment at an accredited institution of higher learning prior to receiving the monetary award, complete the application packet, etc.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Deadline date:  must be submitted to the guidance counselor
March 1, 2020 The Illinois Odd Fellow – Rebekah Scholarship Program  The Illinois Odd Fellow – Rebekah Scholarship Program – Available to students wishing to continue their education in any post-secondary school or an accredited vocational/technical school.  Applicants need not be affiliated with the Independent Order of Odd Fellow, but must be a resident of Illinois and a citizen of the United States.  For more information and an application go to www.ioof-il.org  or check in the guidance office.  Deadline date:  applications must be fully completed and received by March 1, 2020.
March 11, 2020 Rural Health, Inc. (RHI) A $1,000 scholarship will be offered to a high school senior at each of the following schools: Anna-Jonesboro, Cobden, Dongola, Goreville, Joppa, Massac County, Shawnee, and Vienna.  Applicants will be recognized for their desire to pursue a career in healthcare.
I have attached the application packet and would appreciate it if you could provide copies to any of your eligible high school seniors. This year, RHI will again fund and administer healthcare scholarship opportunities to eligible seniors in our service area. Rural Health asks that the guidance counselor send the completed application packets to us no later than March 13, 2020.  This can be done via email (kmalone@ruralhealthinc.org); fax (618-614-1210) 
March, 1 2020 The National Garden Club High School Essay Contest Open to high school students attending 9th through 12th grades.  A $1,000 National Garden Club Scholarship will be awarded to the National Winner.  For more info regarding requirements, etc. check in the guidance office.  Contest Deadlines:  state winners must be sent to Regional Chairman by  February 1, 2020;  regional winners must be sent to National Chairman by March 1, 2020.
  March 15, 2020    2020-2021 Illinois Sheriffs’ Association Scholarship Valued at $500, the scholarship is to be utilized at institutions of higher education within the State of Illinois; must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2020-2021 school year; answer the essay question included in the application.  Applications are available in the guidance office, online at www.ilsheriff.org or at the Union County Sheriff’s office.
March, 27 2020 Legence Bank awards scholarships  every year to help the students in our community pursue their educational dreams. We will be awarding a total of five $500 Academic and five $500 FFA scholarships. Requirement for Recipients
1.       
Recipient should be a student who plans to further his or her education at a vocational school, junior college or a four year college/university.
Recipient must have a “B” average.
The student must be a graduating senior.
Recipient must be accepted as a full time student into a vocational school, junior college or a four year college/university.
Recipient planning to major in business or finance is preferred, but not required.
General Scholarship Information
Application and video essay should be submitted electronically at https://www.legencebank.com/about-us/scholarships.html.
Recipient will receive the scholarship money after the completion of their first semester of college.
The scholarship money will be sent directly to the school to be applied for tuition and books.
The recipient will be recognized on Honors Day at the High School they are currently attending.
The winner will be chosen without regard to race, sex, or financial need.
March27,2020Legence Bank & American Farm Mortgage – FFA Scholarship 2020The Legence Bank and American Farm Bureau will be awarding five scholarships to high school FFA seniors in southern Illinois; the value is $500.  Criteria include: plan to further his or her education at a vocational school, junior college or a four year college/university, have a “B” average and must be a graduating senior; the recipient is planning to major in agriculture, business, or finance (which is preferred, but not required).  Applications are available in the guidance office or visit https://www.legencebank.com/about-us/scholarships.html.

March 27, 2020Legence Bank – Academic Scholarship 2020The Legence Bank will be awarding five scholarships to high school seniors in southern Illinois; the value is $500.  Criteria include: plan to further his or her education at a vocational school, junior college or a four year college/university, have a “B” average, must be a graduating senior, recipient planning to major in business or finance is preferred, but not required, etc. Applications are available in the guidance office or visit https://www.legencebank.com/about-us/scholarships.html.
  April 1,2020Rebecca Kirtman Memorial ScholarshipThree types of non-renewable scholarships are available to seniors (valued at $1,000 each).  The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage students who have demonstrated outstanding community service in high school to continue their efforts throughout their lives and to inspire others to do the same.  For more information and an application check in the guidance office.
 April 3, 2020 The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois     This is a teacher preparation and scholarship program for high school seniors (and first – and second-year Illinois college students) who have the determination and drive to be excellent teachers in Illinois schools-of- need.  Get up to $23,000 in tuition assistance and become a teacher in Illinois!  Apply at www.goldenapple.org/scholars or check in the guidance office for more information.  Deadline date:  April 3, 2020.
April 10, 2020Anna Moose Lodge #1346 ScholarshipTwo $1,000 scholarships will be awarded; awards will be based on scholarship criteria.  Applications are available in the guidance office. 
May 31, 2020 Lavern and Nola McEntire Lineworker’s Scholarship Awarded to a student to attend the lineworker’s school conducted by the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives in conjunction with Lincoln Land Community College, Springfield, IL.
March 31, 2020SIU Credit Union 2020 ScholarshipApplicant or the applicant’s legal guardian must be a SIU Credit Union member in good standing; applicant must be a graduating high school senior enrolling into a two or four year college; community college student transferring into a four-year university or an adult student returning to college.  Five (5) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded.  More information is available in the guidance or online at www.siucu.org/about/scholarship
 June 1, 2020 Benner/Green “Learning for Success” Scholarship Fund This two-year scholarship ($10,000 per year) has been established for the benefit of one student/graduate of Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO or Ann-Jonesboro Community High School (to attend Ranken Technical College in St. Louis, MO)  Application procedures include:  Submit transcript, two letters of recommendation, essay, financial need, cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher,  etc.  Applications are available in the guidance office.
