Senior Info

Greetings A-J Seniors.  As I’m sure you’ve already heard, we were saddened to learn that we would have to postpone the originally scheduled graduation, which was supposed to be held on May 16.  Now, we turn our hopes to being able to have an in-person graduation ceremony on the rescheduled date of June 27 at 7:30 p.m.

In the meantime, we do have some things that we think many of you will want to have, many of which we would normally have passed out to you on what should have been the morning of your graduation practice, on Friday May 15.  We have your caps and gowns, senior shirts, senior signs, official transcripts and immunization records.

On Monday, May 18, from 3-5 p.m., we’d like to recognize your years of effort to become high school graduates by offering you an opportunity to drive to campus to pick up the aforementioned items.  Practicing appropriate social distancing, faculty and staff will be invited to be here to cheer you and wave warm wishes your direction as you pick up these items.  Please know that there should be only one car per graduate, and, per ISBE guidance, each car should contain only family members who live in the same residence.  At the appropriately determined place, the graduate only will exit the vehicle and pick up the items.

It is vitally important to note that this DOES NOT take the place of graduation.  It is our intent and sincerest desire to have a ceremony on June 27 that is as near as possible to traditional graduations as guidance from the State Board and health agencies will allow.  Therefore, this drive-through materials pick-up is not meant to take the place of a commencement service.

In the event that we need to provide additional details on the May 18th 4-6 p.m. drive-through or in the case of inclement weather, we’ll contact you as the time gets closer.

On another note, some of you have asked about getting your diplomas prior to the June 27 graduation ceremony.  Like many other industries, the company that produces our diplomas is running behind due to Covid-19 complications, and at this time, we are not sure when the diplomas will arrive in our office.  We will notify you when they do, and if you wish to get yours prior to graduation on June 27, we’ll see to it that you receive it.
