Scholarship Information - Awards

Shawnee Development Council, Inc. Scholarship Program – Criteria include: Income eligibility; must attend an accredited college, trade school, or university in the State of Illinois; must be a full-time student, etc. Applications are available in the guidance office.   Deadline date: April 28, 2017   

Anna-Jo Garden Club Scholarship- Open to Union County, IL students enterning their freshman through senior year of college, or taking a higher degree in any accredited college or university (shorlarship amount: $500). An autobiography of 500 words or less required outlining goals of study. Applications are avaiable in the guidance office. Deadline date: April 28, 2017.

Clinton Scott Musgrave Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship will be awarded to a Union County high school senior. Eligibility requirements include participation in a varsity level sport; GPA of 2.5 or above and commitment to the community. Applications are availabble in the guidance office. Deadline date: April 30, 2017

LaVern and Nola McEntire Lineworker's Scholarship- 1 scholarship will be awarded to a student to attend the lineworker's school conducted by the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperative conjunction with Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL. For more information or an application check in the guidance office. Deadline Date: April 30, 2017.

Southern Illinois Health Care High School Summer Internship Program- Are you planning a career in healthcare? Are you interested in learning about multiple departments before you settle on your major? This program is open to high school juniors, seniors and graduating seniors. It is an eight week program, netting 90 hours of internship experience. College credit can also be earned from your local community college. Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced MAn Scholarship- University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana- Three Balanced Man Scholarships are being offered to incoming male students who have excelled in the areas of scholarship, leadership, athletics and community service during their high school careers. To qualify, students must be full-time at U of I, Champaign-Urbana during the Fall of 2017. The application can be found at www.illinoissigeps.com/scholarships Deadline date: the application must be copleted by May 1, 2017.

Tamara G. Miller Memorial Nursing Scholarship Program – Applicant must be an AJ senior pursuing a career in nursing and rank in the top 30% of class, etc. Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline: May 1,2017

“Aspiring Animation Professional” Scholarship Program – Valued at $1,000 this scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college.  Visit www.animationcareer.com to find eligibility information along with the online application.  Deadline date June 1, 2017

Aspiring Business Professional Scholarship- A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to student that are intrested in pursuing a business degree at any accredited post- secondary school. Intrested students can visit http://wwww.onlinembareport.com/ or check in the guidance office. Deadline date: June 1, 2017.

Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship A $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to students interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college.  Interested students can visit www.fashion-schools.org and find the scholarship located at the bottom of the page.  Deadline date June 1, 2017

Better Business Bureau-2017 Student of Ethics Awards-(Juniors Only)- Available to a high school junior who personifies high ethics demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity and academic history. This years award will be a $2,500 scholarship that can be applied to the students college, university,or trade school of choice. Applications are available in the guidance office or online at bbb.org/stlouis/student-of-ethics-awards. Deadline date: June 2, 2017.

2017 Horatio Alger Carrer & Technical Scholarship- Available to students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, and strenght of character; and are committed to pursue a career or technical certificate/ degree. For more information check in the guidance office or apply online at application.horatioalger.org Deadline date: by June 15, 2017

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship (Nursing Schools Almanac) - A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates the following: A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics, and a passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare. The scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue a college education in nursing, including LPN/LVN/ADN and BSN programs. Review It Scholarship (June 30)

Stokes Educational Scholarship Program - Open to high school seniors, particularly minority students, planning to major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering. With this program you will attend college full-time, then work during the summer at NSA's main  headquarters (National Security Agency) in Fort Meade, Maryland for a minimum of 12 weeks. Visit IntelligenceCareers.gov/NSA for the most current information and to learn more about qualifications, application deadline, and how to apply. Information is also available in the guidance office.

Eleanor R. Huggins Scholarship To be considered for this award, a student must be declared a premedical student at SIUC and have attended Anna-Jonesboro High School.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Deadline date:  August 15, 2017

 

Army ROTC Illinois State Tuition Waivers – The State of Illinois offers 40 Illinois State Tuition Waivers for every State University that offers the Army ROTC program.  The tuition waivers are offered for the fall and spring semesters. If awarded, 100% tuition and the General Activity Fee will be waived for that semester.  For more information and eligibility requirements, check in the guidance office

IACAC Camp College 2017 – Presented by the College Awareness and Preparation Committee – Illinois Assoc. for College Admission Counseling -   Camp College is a FREE 4-day, 3-night program (July 11-14) designed for rising seniors (juniors entering their senior year).  Students will be exposed to a variety of college-related topics and gain valuable skills and tools they can use to prepare for the college search.  Students will visit SIU at Edwardsville, Saint Louis University, and Blackburn College.  Questions?
